Materials
Hook – 8mm
Yarn – 214 yds of a weight 5 bulky yarn
Pictured is Lion Brand Scarfie in Cream/Teal
Scissors
Yarn Needle
Abbreviations
Ch- chain
St – stitch
Sc- single crochet
Dc – double crochet
Tr – treble crochet
Hdc – half double crochet
Sl st – slip stitch
Sk – skip
Notes
The pattern is worked in multiples of 6
Beginning chains do not count as a stitch
Instructions
Chain 72, sl st to join
Round 1: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st to join
Round 2 and 3: Ch 1, hdc in back loop each st around, sl st to join.
Round 4: Ch 3, 3 tr in first st *sk 2 sts, hdc in the next, sk 2 sts, 5tr* repeat * to * around. Complete row with 2tr to complete the beginning shell and sl st to join.
Round 5: Ch 1, sc in first st *ch 3 sk 2 sts, hdc in the next, ch 3 sk 2 sts, sc in the next st* repeat * to * around ending with ch 3 sk 2 st, sl st to join
Round 6: Ch 1, hdc in first st, *2 hdc in ch 3 space, hdc in next st* repeat * to * around, sl st to join
Round 7 and 8: Ch 1, hdc in back loop each st around, sl st to join.
Rounds 9 – 23 – Repeat rounds 4 through 8
